Updated Opening Hours & Social Distancing

From Monday April 6th, in order for the shop to operate effectively within the constraints brought about by the COVID-19 virus, we are changing the opening hours of Creaton Village Shop & Post Office. We shall also be reinforcing, and where necessary, amending restrictions that are already in place.

The new opening hours are:
Monday to Friday            7:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 6 pm
Saturday and Sunday      8:00 am to 12:00 noon
As usual, the Post Office will be open during the same hours as the shop

Entry to the shop is restricted to a maximum of 2 customers at any one time, one at the till and one picking stock items. Please be mindful of the other customer and the members of staff and keep a minimum of 2 metres apart.

Outside, please remember to keep 2 metres apart in the queue in the central path to the shop door. To manage the queue, there may be times when one of our volunteers requests you to wait until invited in.

Our customers are very understanding about the inconvenience of the changes implemented so far and we aim to continue to provide a high-level of service to our community. We would like you to help us with this continuity, and keep yourself safe, by taking the following precautions:

  • If you feel unwell or display any symptoms of Covid-19 or any other contagious disease, do not visit the shop. Use our delivery service instead (see below)
  • Wash your hands before and after visiting the shop
  • Ensure you observe the social distancing rule of keeping 2 metres apart from any other person including:
    • entering the shop
    • when attempting to pass people in the shop
    • exiting the shop
    • turning right on leaving the shop to avoid passing customers waiting in the queue
  • Do not spend any longer than necessary in the shop, particularly when there is a queue outside
  • Ask a volunteer (keeping 2 metres apart) for assistance if you are unsure where to find what you want
  • Pay by card not cash

If you are unwell, or having difficulty getting to the shop, please use our home delivery service. Ring 07789 828423 or email shop@creatonvillageshop.co.uk to place your order, however small.

Covid-19 update - Home Delivery

In this difficult time, we would like to assure all our customers that it is our intention to keep the shop and Post Office open for as long as we can, especially with the increased emphasis on staying local. Circumstances may force us to close temporarily at short notice, but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.

Creaton Village Shop is working with the Parish Council and others to ensure that as far as possible the basic needs of our community are met for the duration of this outbreak of Covid-19. With some of our volunteers and customers advised to stay at home (if they are over 70, have underlying health issues or display symptoms that may be or are similar to those of Covid-19), there will be fewer people to serve our customers and a new demand to meet the needs of individuals who are confined to their homes.  However, it is inevitable that the opening hours will have to be reduced as the situation worsens but with the help of regular and new volunteers it is our intention to ensure that those who are unable to visit the shop will have their shopping delivered to them. The Post Office will continue to operate for as long as the shop is open provided  we have the staff available.

As a community shop, we want to help you, the community, so we will be extending our services to include free delivery to any person or family who is house bound or self-isolating.

Although there have been some products that are difficult to obtain, we have confidence that our suppliers will improve the availability, so, as long as people are sensible about ordering, supplies should be forthcoming.

So:
- let us know if you are alone or self-isolating
- we will deliver to your doorstep free of charge
- there is no minimum spend
- you can also have your prescription delivered to us from Brixworth surgery and we will deliver it to you. (Ask the surgery to deliver it to us)
- you can pay:
           -  with you credit or debit card over the phone
           -  by bank transfer
           -  by cheque or cash to be collected at the time of delivery.

We aim to deliver within 24 hours but it may be a little longer depending on the availability of products.

Please order by calling 07789 828423 or email 'shop@creatonvillageshop.co.uk'
Please give your name and phone number so we can call you to confirm the details.

Thank You

Gluten-Free

We've increased our range of gluten-free products (including Dove's Gluten Free flour!), in response to requests from our customers. Here's a selection below, but let us know if you think there's anything else we should stock!

Focus on Local - Joseph Morris Butchers

The business was established between the two world wars by Joseph Morris, the present proprietor’s father, in 1930 and is now in its third generation.

Animal welfare is a priority for Joseph Morris. All livestock is sourced from local farms, a practice that not only supports the local farming community but also ensures uniformity of quality. Travelling distances being short, stress for the animals is minimised.

Awareness of customer requirements sees Joseph Morris continually upgrading the service that they provide. Most recently they have opened a kitchen where they make their own pork pies, sausage rolls, patés & haslet. These new lines complement their established range of home-cooked hams, roast pork.

Focus on Local - Punjaban Curry Sauces

Punjaban is a family-run business based in Moulton Park, Northampton. Owner Charanjit Sapal (known as Charlie) is extremely passionate about getting the sauces right; she bases them on the traditional recipes she uses at home, and the sauces are free from all artificial ingredients and are gluten free.

Focus on Local - Neneview Dairy cheeses

Neneview Dairy currently produces 11 different varieties of hard goat cheese. All of the milk comes from their own “trip” of goats and is made on-site at Redlands Farm, Stanwick. From time to time they produce seasonal cheeses to add to the varieties and they are always looking for new ones to add to their range. We now stocks four varieties:

COBBLERS CHOICE: A close textured, full bodied cheese in the style of "Cheddar". It has a vintage cream colour, and crumbles in the mouth. It is matured for a minimum of 150 days.

TOGGLERS: Vanilla white in colour, mild and mellow in taste with a satin appearance and creamy semi-hard texture. Matured for a minimum of 30 days.

HOBNAIL: A moist, hard cheese with blue/black veining which develops upon exposure to air. It has the distinctive "blue" cheese flavour with a hint of goat. Matured for a minimum of 60 days.

STANWICK BLUE: A rich, semi-soft blue veined cheese with a warm amber glow. The veining develops on exposure to air and it has a strong "blue cheese" flavour. It is matured for at least 60 days.

New In!

We're now stocking these fabulous freshly baked quiches and muffins from yet another local supplier - The Old Parlour of Chapel Brampton. So tasty, you'll be eating them before you've left the shop!

Your Shop Needs You!

Our Community Shop is staffed largely by a willing team of volunteers, but we're always on the lookout for more support. You can choose the days and times to suit, so if you have a few hours to spare please click here for more details.

Let us do your Dry Cleaning for you!

We offer an extensive Dry Cleaning service, including suits and shirts, dresses and gowns, duvets and sheets, curtains and service washes. Just bring your items to the shop and we’ll price them up and confirm a collection date.
